Egypt National Team Departures for Canada Ahead of World Cup Clash with New Zealand

The Egypt national football team, led by coaching duo Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan, has departed from Spokane, USA, heading to Canada in preparation for their upcoming match against New Zealand in the second round of the group stage at the 2026 World Cup.

The Pharaohs traveled on a private flight arranged by FIFA, which took approximately one hour to reach Vancouver, the Canadian city hosting their next match.

This encounter against New Zealand is crucial for Egypt as they aim to secure a spot in the knockout stages of the tournament. The team currently sits in Group G and seeks to improve their standing following their opening match.

In their first match of the World Cup, Egypt played to a 1-1 draw against Belgium, earning them their first point in the tournament.

Head coach Hossam Hassan is optimistic about securing a victory against New Zealand to enhance the national team’s chances of advancing before their final group stage match.
