History of Egypt vs. New Zealand Matches

Although the upcoming World Cup match will be the first official competition between Egypt and New Zealand, the two teams have faced each other three times in friendly matches, with Egypt winning all encounters decisively.

The first meeting took place in 1999, where Egypt triumphed with a goal from Hazem Emam. The teams clashed again later that year, with Egypt securing another victory thanks to a goal from Ibrahim Hassan.

The most recent encounter occurred during the Cairo Capital Cup in 2024, where the Egyptian team won 1-0 with a goal from Mostafa Mohamed.

The team will travel from Spokane, USA on a chartered flight arranged by FIFA for participating teams, with an expected travel time of about one hour. The team will hold their training session in Vancouver at 6:00 PM local time (4:00 AM Cairo time).
