England striker Harry Kane discussed his team’s impressive victory against Croatia in the 2026 World Cup, highlighting their determination and tactical adjustments.

On Thursday morning, England secured a thrilling 4-2 win over Croatia at the AT&T Stadium during their second group match of the tournament.

After the match, Kane told ITV, “The two halves were completely different. Our performance in the first half was acceptable, but we felt disappointed with how we conceded. I think we lost our focus at times.”.

He credited the coaching staff for their halftime talk, saying, “The coach told us that even if we lost, it should be after putting in the expected performance. I believe we found our way back in the second half.”.

Kane emphasized that England was more aggressive when losing possession, stating, “That’s tough because Croatia has players like Luka Modric who drop deep to receive the ball. You have to think about who to mark. However, we played with passion, which is one of our greatest strengths, and we need to utilize that more effectively.”.

He added, “We weren’t under threat in the second half and then scored a third goal on a counterattack. After that, we could have scored two or three more goals.”.
