Real Madrid Targets Goncalo Inacio Amid Busy Summer Transfer Plans
Real Madrid’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, has set his sights on Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio as a key target for the upcoming summer transfer window. The club is preparing for a bustling period of player movement.
Recently, Real Madrid renewed the contract of defender Antonio Rudiger and is also expecting Ibrahima Konate to join from Liverpool on a free transfer. Meanwhile, David Alaba’s departure has been confirmed, and Raul Asencio may also leave the club, as he is not included in Mourinho’s plans for the 2026-27 season.
Given these changes, Real Madrid is looking to bolster its defense further. Manchester City’s Ruben Dias is reportedly on their radar as a potential signing.

Real Madrid Eyes Summer Signing of Inacio
According to journalist Ruben Martin, Real Madrid is keenly interested in Inacio, who can be acquired for €60 million (£52 million) due to a release clause in his contract. The left-footed defender is currently representing Portugal at the 2026 World Cup and has garnered significant admiration from Mourinho.
At just 24 years old, Inacio has extended his contract with Sporting until June 2030 after signing a new deal late last year. However, speculation about his future continues to swirl. Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal are also reported to be in pursuit of the talented defender, who developed through Sporting’s youth system.
Inacio has made an impressive 259 appearances for Sporting Lisbon, netting 24 goals and providing 15 assists throughout his tenure.

Inacio: A Perfect Fit for Real Madrid
The interest in Inacio comes as no surprise given his high valuation in the market. Despite expectations of a move to the Premier League, Real Madrid now has an opportunity to secure his signature this summer.
His age makes him an ideal addition to the squad, complemented by his experience at the highest level with 31 Champions League appearances and 22 caps for Portugal. Mourinho’s admiration for Inacio could pave the way for a transfer following the conclusion of the World Cup.
