Written byFerdous Saeed

The Tunisian Football Federation has decided to exclude Anis Boujelbane from the new coaching staff for the national team following the appointment of French coach Hervé Renard to lead the “Eagles of Carthage” during the 2026 World Cup.

This swift action by the federation comes after recent changes within the team, aimed at reorganizing the coaching structure ahead of continuing their tournament journey, particularly following a heavy 5-1 defeat against Sweden.

A source within the Tunisian federation revealed that Renard was chosen due to his immediate legal readiness, as he possesses a visa to enter Mexico, allowing him to take on his role without any administrative delays.

Renard to Lead Tunisia in Upcoming World Cup Match

The source added that the French coach is set to arrive in Mexico from France at 3:30 PM local time and will begin working with the team immediately.

He is also expected to hold a press conference upon his arrival before leading his first training session in preparation for upcoming matches in the tournament.

Regarding Anis Boujelbane, the source clarified that his inclusion in the coaching staff is currently not feasible due to his lack of a travel visa, noting that obtaining one would require additional time that does not permit his joining at this stage.

It is anticipated that Wahbi Khazri will be part of the new coaching team, while Boujelbane’s situation remains on hold until further administrative decisions are made.

Recently, Anis Boujelbane’s name has been linked with several technical and administrative positions, including rumors about joining the scouting committee at Al Ahly in the near future.
