Scotland Secures Narrow Victory Over Haiti in 2026 World Cup Opener
Scotland kicked off its 2026 World Cup campaign with a valuable victory against Haiti, winning 1-0 in their opening match early Sunday morning. The game was part of the first round of Group C.
John McGinn scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute of the first half. He capitalized on a shot from teammate Che Adams that was initially saved by Haiti’s goalkeeper. McGinn followed up, striking the ball into the net after it deflected off one of the defenders, changing its trajectory into the goal.
With this win, Scotland tops Group C with three points, while Morocco and Brazil each have one point. Haiti finds itself at the bottom of the group without any points.
