Morocco Strikes First Against Brazil in World Cup 2026 Opener

Morocco took the lead against Brazil with the first goal of their match at MetLife Stadium in the United States during the opening round of the 2026 World Cup group stage.

The goal came in the 20th minute, scored by Ismael Saibari after a pass from Brahim Diaz broke through Brazil’s defense. Saibari executed a deft lob over Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker to find the net.

The 2026 World Cup kicked off last Thursday and will conclude on July 19, featuring 48 teams from various continents.

Morocco is placed in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti, aiming to replicate their success from the Qatar World Cup by reaching the semifinals.
