Written byFerdous Saeed

Joaquin Siss, a defender for the Belgium national team, has shared insights on how to contain his teammate Jeremy Doku ahead of the highly anticipated match against Egypt in the 2026 World Cup.

The Belgian team is gearing up to kick off their campaign in the global football tournament with a match against Egypt, part of the opening round in Group F.

Belgium finds itself in Group F alongside Iran, New Zealand, and Egypt in this year’s tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 48 teams from various continents.

In comments reported by the Belgian newspaper dhnet, Siss expressed his enthusiasm: “I feel really good and am happy to be here representing my country. I am learning a lot from this experience and will try to make the most of it; every day in training gives me a new opportunity to develop.”.

He continued, stating: “Football has changed a lot; it is essential for full-backs to participate in attacking plays and consistently support forwards. This has become a fundamental part of their roles on the pitch.”.

On facing Doku during training and how to limit his impact, Siss remarked: “Honestly, it’s very difficult to stop him. You might try to force him to use his left foot or employ some tactical tricks, but that often isn’t effective.”.

Siss concluded by comparing Doku’s abilities with those of Lamine Yamal: “I believe Doku has more strength and speed than Yamal, but they each have their own style of play; both possess unique qualities on the field.”.
