Ahmed El-Shenawy Calls Essam El-Hadary an Unrepeatable Legend, Discusses Al-Ahly’s Star Overload
Ahmed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper for Pyramids FC, has hailed Essam El-Hadary as a football legend whose achievements make him an irreplaceable figure in goalkeeping history. El-Shenawy emphasized that the accomplishments of El-Hadary set him apart as an exceptional model in the position.
During his appearance on the “Malab On” program, El-Shenawy recalled his experiences training and playing alongside El-Hadary for the national team. He noted that El-Hadary’s competitive spirit and relentless desire to excel were key factors behind his success and longevity in the sport.
El-Shenawy also shared how El-Hadary was always supportive, offering him advice and congratulating him after standout performances in matches.
Regarding the upcoming match against Al-Ittihad Jeddah, El-Shenawy praised coach Kranjčar Yurchić for instilling confidence within the team. He mentioned that Yurchić successfully convinced players of their ability to secure a positive result against the Saudi rivals, which was evident in their performance on the pitch that led to victory despite Al-Ittihad’s roster of star players.
The Pyramids goalkeeper also addressed domestic competition, stating that while the team performed well against Al-Ahly, they did not maintain the same level of play in some encounters against Zamalek.
El-Shenawy pointed out that having too many stars in one position can become problematic for any team. He explained that Al-Ahly has struggled this season with an overload of talented players in certain positions—a challenge Pyramids has faced as well—which could negatively impact locker room stability and overall performance.
