Reports indicate that Real Madrid has decided to resume negotiations with Brazilian star Vinicius Junior regarding a contract renewal, which currently runs until the end of the 2026-2027 season.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who is nearing a return to the team’s management, has directly requested the renewal of Vinicius’s contract. Mourinho emphasized his desire to rely on Vinicius as a key player, irrespective of any new signings the club may pursue.

The report further states that Real Madrid plans to initiate discussions with the player’s representatives after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup in July, to explore details of the new contract.

It is worth noting that previous reports have suggested interest from the Saudi Pro League in acquiring Vinicius during the current summer transfer window.
