Written byFerdous Saeed

Brazilian star Neymar da Silva has expressed his immense excitement about participating in the 2026 World Cup, emphasizing that this tournament holds a special significance for him, as it may be his final appearance in a World Cup wearing the Brazilian jersey.

In an interview featured in the documentary “Vai, Brasil!”, Neymar revealed that he feels a youthful enthusiasm akin to that of younger players, despite his extensive experience. He stated that he is preparing for the tournament with the mindset of a player participating in his first World Cup, rather than his fourth.

The Santos forward is currently undergoing an intensive rehabilitation program following an injury to his right calf, which raises doubts about his participation in Brazil’s opening match against Morocco. While there has been noticeable improvement in his physical condition, he has not yet fully rejoined team training.

Neymar’s final decision regarding his availability for the match against Morocco is expected to be made in the coming days. However, his chances of appearing in the second game against Haiti appear greater if he successfully completes his treatment program.

Despite a series of injuries over recent years, Brazilian head coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted on including Neymar in the final squad, believing in his technical value and vast experience in major tournaments.

Neymar expressed happiness at being part of the national team during this phase and emphasized his desire to savor every moment of the tournament while helping lead Brazil towards reclaiming the World Cup title that has eluded them since 2002.

Holding the record as Brazil’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals, Neymar aims to add another achievement to his illustrious career at the 2026 World Cup and guide the “Seleção” toward their sixth star that Brazilian fans have eagerly awaited for over two decades.
