Egypt Increases Maximum Balance for Financial Inclusion Initiative Accounts

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with the Central Bank of Egypt, has successfully coordinated with the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr to raise the maximum balance limit for financial inclusion accounts under the “Open Your Account in Egypt” initiative for Egyptians abroad.

As of the end of June 2026, the allowable amount will increase to EGP 1 million or its equivalent in foreign currencies, up from EGP 750,000.

The initiative is currently being implemented in 61 countries, involving 81 diplomatic and consular missions through the National Bank of Egypt. The following steps are required to ensure successful execution of the initiative:.
