Egypt Raises Maximum Balance Limit for Financial Inclusion Initiative

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt, the National Bank of Egypt, and Banque Misr, has announced an increase in the maximum balance limit for the financial inclusion initiative “Open Your Account in Egypt” for Egyptians abroad.

Effective from the end of June 2026, the permissible amount will be raised to one million Egyptian pounds or its equivalent in foreign currencies, up from the previous limit of 750,000 pounds.

This initiative is currently being implemented in 61 countries through 81 diplomatic and consular missions associated with the National Bank of Egypt.

As part of the cooperation protocol for this initiative, specific procedures must be followed to ensure its successful implementation.
