Abdel Ghaffar further noted that the ministry has decided to adopt the term “health tourism” instead of “medical tourism,” reflecting a broader vision that extends beyond treatment to encompass preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, and comprehensive wellness experiences, aligning with global best practices.

Amr Sedky, Secretary of the National Council for Health Tourism, stated: “The launch of the Tour for Cure platform represents a significant leap in Egypt’s health tourism system. The platform will serve as a unified electronic gateway connecting international patients with distinguished healthcare facilities while providing integrated packages that combine high-quality medical services with Egypt’s unique tourism experiences, enhancing our global competitiveness.”.

The main features of the national platform “Tour for Cure” include: facilitating procedures for receiving health tourists and providing comprehensive services; linking accredited healthcare facilities with tourism entities; offering diverse health tourism packages; strengthening strategic partnerships with the private sector; and applying the highest international standards of quality and safety.

The Ministry of Health and Population, in collaboration with the National Council for Health Tourism, has reaffirmed its full commitment to launching the platform as soon as possible to achieve the state’s vision of maximizing benefits from this vital economic and health sector.
