Hesham Hanafy, a former star of Al Ahly, praised the performance of the Egyptian national team during their match against Brazil, emphasizing that competing against one of the world’s strongest teams reflects the boldness of the coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan and their confidence in the players’ abilities.

In statements made on the “Stadium Al-Mahwar” program, Hanafy noted that choosing to face Brazil was both a daring and challenging decision. However, he highlighted its significance in preparing the team for major upcoming events, pointing out that the coaching staff successfully instilled a great deal of confidence in the players throughout the match.

He added that Egypt displayed a positive reaction after conceding an early goal, quickly regaining their balance on the field. This resilience demonstrates the strong character that the team has developed recently.

“Tactical discipline is commendable for Hossam Hassan,” he remarked.

The former Al Ahly star stressed that the defensive organization and adherence to tactical plans exhibited by the team after conceding the first goal should be credited to Hossam Hassan’s coaching staff. He had anticipated a potential drop in performance or impact on the players; however, the team maintained its cohesion and effectively executed tactical instructions.

Hanafy concluded his remarks by pointing out that Belgium’s significant victory over Tunisia stands out as one of the tournament’s notable surprises, given that both teams had shown similar levels recently, making such a result unexpected for many.
