Nine Injured in Shooting Near England Team’s Accommodation Ahead of 2026 World Cup

Reports emerged on Sunday indicating that nine individuals were injured in a shooting incident that occurred near the England national football team’s accommodation in Kansas City, Missouri, ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The Athletic reported that police received notifications about gunfire on Trust Street, located just a short distance from the team’s training facility and designated hotel for the tournament, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Kansas City Police Chief Jake Becchina stated that officers responded promptly to reports of gunfire and found a large crowd dispersing from the area upon their arrival.

Becchina explained that three adult women were initially transported to a hospital for treatment. Subsequent investigations revealed that a total of nine adults were taken to various hospitals in the region, all with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects related to the incident, while police continue their search and investigation efforts, increasing security patrols in the vicinity.

Meanwhile, the England team is not currently in Kansas City; players and coaching staff are continuing their training camp in Palm Beach, Florida, as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup.

No official comments have been made by the Football Association regarding the incident as security agencies monitor developments related to this situation.
