Minister Cansoua Inspects Educational and Medical Projects at Ain Shams University

Dr. Abdelaziz Cansoua, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain Al-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, conducted a tour of various educational and medical projects at the university on Sunday morning. They were accompanied by senior officials from the ministry and the university, as well as hospital directors.

The minister began his tour with a visit to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building (i-HUB) in the university city to examine the classrooms equipped with modern technological media.

His visit also included a stop at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, where he inspected outpatient clinics and various service units providing healthcare to citizens. He received a detailed explanation of the health services offered by the hospital and reviewed completed projects that have been activated to enhance patient care, focusing on improving the medical system available to the public.

Additionally, Dr. Cansoua visited the medical city to assess progress on ongoing projects and to observe recent upgrades aimed at enhancing operational efficiency within university hospitals. His tour included inspections of main gates, Al-Mohammadi Garden, site works, as well as visits to the Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Center, Radiotherapy Unit, Masri Research Center for Medicine, Blood Bank, Specialized Pediatric Surgery Hospital, new Emergency Hospital, Simulation Center, and Central Computer Lab at the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Cansoua praised the ongoing development and modernization projects across various academic, research, and service sectors at the university. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the university’s commitment to enhancing educational quality and improving services for students and researchers. He highlighted the institution’s distinguished faculty members whose expertise significantly contributes to supporting educational and research systems while serving the community.

The minister noted that current projects align with the state’s plan for continuous development and expansion of university facilities, meeting comprehensive development needs while fostering an integrated educational environment conducive to creativity and innovation. This is part of ongoing support from political leadership for higher education and scientific research sectors.

He pointed out that infrastructure expansion at universities is progressing alongside qualitative improvements in academic programs and research initiatives. This dual approach enhances the university’s competitiveness while elevating the quality of its educational and research outputs, furthering its role in community service and contributing to sustainable development goals.

In response, Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain Al-Abidin confirmed that Ain Shams University is implementing an ambitious plan to develop its medical city according to international standards. This initiative supports Egypt’s aim to improve healthcare quality and provide advanced medical care worthy of Egyptian citizens while contributing positively to healthcare systems and achieving sustainable development objectives.

The university president reiterated its commitment to executing strategies aimed at reinforcing its medical city’s status as one of Egypt’s largest and most modern university medical cities equipped with advanced treatment, educational, and research capabilities serving millions annually.

Present during this visit were Dr. Omar Sherif Omar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals; Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Amani Osama, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Salehin, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Ain Shams University; Dr. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of Medicine Faculty; Dr. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Dr. Hisham Anwar, Director of Specialized Hospital; Dr. Yasser Mujahid, Director of Engineering Consulting Center at the university; and Dr. Hisham El-Ghazaly, Director of Egyptian Medical Research Center.
