Imam Ashour Shares Heartfelt Message with Wisam Abu Ali After Cleveland Match
Imam Ashour, a player for the Egyptian national team, took the opportunity to meet with Palestinian Wisam Abu Ali, former striker for Al Ahly, during the friendly match between Egypt and Brazil.
The game took place at Huntington Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, as part of the final preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Ashour shared a photo of himself with his former teammate on social media, captioning it with the word “brother,” highlighting the strong bond they have maintained since their time together at Al Ahly, prior to Abu Ali’s move to pursue a professional career in the United States.
Ashour participated in the match as a substitute in the second half, entering the game in the 75th minute to replace Mohannad Lashin. The encounter ended with Egypt losing to Brazil 2-1.
This match served as the final rehearsal for the national team before embarking on their journey in the World Cup, as the coaching staff aims to assess both the technical and physical readiness of all players ahead of the global tournament.
