Kuwait – Ahli Online.

Today marks the second day of the 28th Asian Handball Club Championship, hosted by the Kuwait Club at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex in Sabah Al-Salem. Three matches are set to take place today.

The first match kicks off at 4 PM, featuring a clash between Qatar’s Al-Arabi and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej. Following this, Kuwait will face Bahrain’s Al-Najma at 6 PM, with the day’s competitions concluding at 8 PM with a match between Burqan and UAE’s Sharjah.

Kuwait aims for victory in its second match to move closer to securing a spot among the top four teams, leveraging both home advantage and fan support. Meanwhile, Al-Najma enters the match determined to secure two points, relying on their players’ technical and physical readiness.

Kuwait will likely depend on its foreign players, including Qatari Frankis, Portuguese Victor, Montenegrin Vladan, and Macedonian Filip, along with local talent.

Burqan Faces Defending Champion.

In the third encounter, Burqan hopes to capitalize on its complete roster and player readiness to achieve a positive result against defending champion Sharjah. The latter is also aiming to retain its title while striving for group leadership and a ticket to the semifinals.

Player Eligibility Confirmation.

The organizing committee for the championship held a technical meeting earlier this week attended by Asian Handball Federation Secretary General Muhammad Shafiq from Pakistan, Technical Director Jasem Al-Dhiab, UAE Referee Committee Chairman Saleh Ashour, Tournament Director Sameh Al-Hajri, along with representatives from the seven participating clubs.

The meeting confirmed player eligibility through passport checks and approved team uniforms for the tournament matches. Additionally, various technical and organizational aspects that will be implemented throughout the championship were discussed.
