Didier Deschamps, head coach of the French national team, has confirmed that Kylian Mbappé is fully prepared to compete in the upcoming 2026 World Cup, emphasizing that the striker is in excellent physical and mental condition as the tournament approaches.

Deschamps made these remarks during a press conference held on Wednesday to discuss the team’s preparations for the highly anticipated World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Mbappé joined the French squad last weekend after a challenging season with Real Madrid, marked by various obstacles including injuries that limited his participation at times.

The French team is set to play a friendly match against Ivory Coast on Thursday as part of their final preparations before the World Cup kicks off.

Deschamps noted that the Real Madrid star is currently free from any physical or mental issues, stating that he has been in constant communication with him since his arrival at the training camp.

The French coach remarked, “Mbappé is at his best right now, both physically and mentally. He is handling his responsibilities within the team excellently.”.

He added, “What he experienced with his club is a different matter; here he is part of a group working towards a single goal and has shown great commitment since the early days of camp.”.

Deschamps highlighted Mbappé’s significant value to the team, noting that his experience in major tournaments gives him a unique advantage as he prepares for his third World Cup appearance.

He concluded by affirming that the French captain plays his role both on and off the pitch perfectly and is considered one of the key assets for France’s journey in the tournament.
