Written byFerdous Saeed

The Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf has issued a formal request to Zamalek SC, demanding a payment of 5 billion Egyptian pounds to legalize the status of the club’s main branch.

This move comes amid ongoing discussions regarding the land ownership and usage rights for the Zamalek club premises, which have been a source of contention in recent years.

Hossam El-Mandouh, a member of the Zamalek board, acknowledged the ministry’s demands and expressed the club’s intention to engage in negotiations to resolve this matter amicably.

The club has faced several challenges related to its land in Mohandessin, and this latest demand adds another layer to the ongoing crisis surrounding Zamalek’s property and operational status.

Club officials are expected to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Awqaf soon to discuss potential solutions and clarify the next steps in addressing these financial obligations.
