Egypt’s National Railways Introduces Multiple Ticket Booking and Payment Options
Egypt’s National Railways Authority has announced the introduction of various methods for passengers to purchase train tickets, aimed at reducing congestion at ticket counters and improving service quality as part of the Ministry of Transport’s ongoing modernization efforts.
Passengers can now obtain tickets through several convenient options:.
- Ticket counters located at various railway stations.
- Online booking via the official website: here.
- The Egyptian National Railways mobile application, available on both Play Store and App Store.
- Authorized sales agents from electronic payment companies partnered with the authority, including: Fawry, Khalis, Ahly Mummkin, Aman, Daman, Magic Pay, Khadamaty, O Pay, Talqa, Cash Call, Masari, Amwal, Mowga, Smart Pay, and Waqti.
- Booking for air-conditioned and luxury trains via a voice service by calling 1661 from mobile phones or 09000661 from landlines up to 15 days before departure and until one hour prior to train departure.
- City offices located outside stations, with a total of 34 offices nationwide.
- Self-service ticket machines (TVM) available at select main stations.
The authority also offers several payment methods for ticket purchases:.
- Cash payments at all ticket counters and offices of the authority. Electronic payment cards (Visa & Master) are accepted at major station counters.
- Payments on the website and mobile app using electronic payment cards (Visa & Master).
- Payments to authorized sales agents can be made either in cash or electronically using Visa & Master cards at merchants affiliated with these agents.
