Belgium Secures 2-0 Victory Over Croatia in World Cup 2026 Warm-Up

On Tuesday evening, Belgium clinched a crucial 2-0 victory against Croatia in a friendly match, as both teams prepare for the upcoming World Cup 2026.

Yuri Tielemans opened the scoring for Belgium in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a defensive mix-up in Croatia’s penalty area. Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made a vital save just before halftime, denying Luka Modric’s dangerous attempt and preserving his team’s lead.

In the second half, Croatia sought to equalize, but Ante Budimir was thwarted by the crossbar in the 61st minute.

The match also marked the return of striker Romelu Lukaku after a period of absence. He sealed Belgium’s victory with a goal in stoppage time, taking advantage of a breakaway to score the second goal.

Belgium is set to be one of Egypt’s opponents in Group G of the World Cup 2026, which also includes Iran and New Zealand. The two teams will face off in their opening match on June 15.
