The first round of group stage matches for Arab teams in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, has concluded. This tournament marks a historic moment as it features 48 teams for the first time.

The opening matches showcased a variety of outcomes for the Arab teams, ranging from strong performances and positive results to disappointing losses that have put some squads under early pressure ahead of the second round.

Morocco was the first Arab team to take the field, managing to secure a commendable 1-1 draw against Brazil. This result provided the Atlas Lions with a significant morale boost as they embark on their World Cup journey.

Qatar also delivered an impressive performance against Switzerland, earning a valuable point with a 1-1 draw, marking their first-ever point in World Cup history.

Egypt stood out with a strong showing against Belgium, forcing a 1-1 draw after a solid performance throughout both halves. This result underscored Egypt’s competitiveness in Group G.
