Harry Kane Named Man of the Match in England’s Victory Over Croatia
Harry Kane, the English international and forward for the national team, was awarded the Man of the Match title following his impressive performance in England’s clash against Croatia on Thursday. The match was part of Group 12 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Kane played a pivotal role in leading England to a crucial 4-2 victory at AT&T Stadium during the second round of group stage matches.
The striker opened the scoring for England with a penalty kick in the ninth minute, confidently placing the ball to the left of Croatia’s goalkeeper.
He then netted his second goal in the 42nd minute with a powerful header from a cross delivered by Declan Rice.
Kane has now become the second English player to score in three different World Cup tournaments, showcasing his consistent goal-scoring ability over recent years.
He previously scored in the 2018 and 2022 editions, joining an elite group alongside David Beckham, who achieved this feat in 1998, 2002, and 2006.
Since joining Bayern Munich in 2023, Kane has amassed a remarkable total of 201 goal contributions in just 178 matches, including 169 goals and 32 assists.
With his two goals against Croatia, Kane has increased his World Cup tally to ten, matching Gary Lineker’s record as England’s all-time leading scorer in World Cup history.
