Saudi Arabia and Senegal Draw 0-0 in Final World Cup 2026 Warm-Up
The Saudi Arabian national football team concluded its preparations for the 2026 World Cup with a goalless draw against Senegal in a friendly match held early Wednesday at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas.
The match showcased a balanced performance from both teams, as the coaching staff aimed to assess the players’ readiness both technically and physically ahead of the tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This encounter marked Saudi Arabia’s first scoreless draw in a friendly match in four years, with neither team managing to find the net throughout the game. It served as a final preparatory fixture before the World Cup kicks off later this month.
Saudi Arabia’s Matches in the 2026 World Cup
Saudi Arabia will begin its World Cup journey against Uruguay in Group H, which also includes Spain and Cape Verde, while Senegal is set to face France in a highly anticipated matchup.
The match saw a red card issued to Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea, who received two yellow cards within two minutes (82nd and 84th) and was sent off shortly after coming on as a substitute in the second half.
Greek coach Georgios Donis made significant substitutions during the second half, bringing on ten new players, while goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais was the only player to complete the match from start to finish.
On the other hand, Senegal’s coach Aliou Cissé made nine substitutions during the second half, retaining only goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and defender Moussa Niakhaté from the starting lineup.
