On the morning of June 26, Ibrahim El-Segini, the head of the Consumer Protection Authority, met with Dr. Hossam El-Din Fawzy, the Governor of Damietta, at the governorate headquarters to discuss enhancing market oversight and ensuring the stability of goods prices for citizens. The discussions also focused on intensifying monitoring campaigns in the governorate to address any negative practices or attempts to manipulate prices or restrict the availability of goods.

This meeting aligns with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and instructions from Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly aimed at tightening market supervision and ensuring the availability of essential and strategic goods at appropriate prices and quantities for citizens. The goal is to enhance the presence of regulatory bodies across various governorates to ensure market discipline and protect consumer rights.

El-Segini emphasized the importance of continuous coordination between his authority and local governments as a key strategy in supporting national efforts to regulate markets, monitor goods availability, and combat harmful practices against consumer rights. He noted that close cooperation between executive and regulatory bodies in governorates is essential for effective field monitoring and rapid response to any violations or negative practices that could affect market stability.

El-Segini stated that achieving market discipline requires integrated roles among various concerned authorities, expanding field monitoring campaigns, and continuously tracking goods circulation. He noted that the governorate is consistently working on intensifying monitoring campaigns in coordination with various stakeholders to ensure the safety and quality of available goods meet established standards.
